The Nest

Draft, pending legal review. This describes how The Nest works today and isn't final.

Privacy

The Nest connects people who work in restaurants with restaurants that are hiring. You log in with Blackbird, so The Nest only learns what Blackbird shares with it and what you type in.

If you apply for a role

If you save a role

We keep which roles you saved and when, along with your Blackbird ID, name and email from Blackbird. Only you see your saved roles; restaurants don't.

If you get alerts from a restaurant

We keep which restaurants you asked for alerts from, and email you at the address Blackbird gave us each time one of them posts a role. Every alert has a link that stops them, and you can stop them on your Account page.

If you reported a post

Reporting posts is turned off for now. For reports sent earlier, we keep the reason picked and anything written.

If you post roles for a restaurant

We keep the post, your Back of House login's email, and a record of what was posted, edited, hired or taken down and by whom, so posts can be looked into if something goes wrong. Your restaurant's profile (logo, photos, About and links) is public on its page, and we keep who last changed it.

Emails

Restaurants get one email per new applicant, with just the applicant's first name, last initial and the role. Restaurants also get a reminder every 30 days while a post is up. When you apply, you get one email confirming it, sent to the address you applied with. When a role you applied for closes, you get one email saying it's no longer open, unless you've deleted your data. If you asked for alerts from a restaurant, you get one email per role it posts.
